When ‘Straight’ Men Search for ‘Cuckolding’
During private visits to India, we noticed a significant number of profiles claiming to be “straight” and looking for cuckolding. Our first European reaction? “those straights” and “Cockholding?”🤔
But our Indian friends explained: No, they really are straight. They’re looking to connect with gay men on ROMEO to lay down their wives, since most gay men in India are married. The term cuckolding is just the codeword. The gay partner isn’t expected to be part. WOW!.😉
After thinking about it, we have to admit, it totally makes sense! Finding a place for intimacy is always a challenge in India, and the wife comes with a drama-free apartment. We did a quick search and found 1338 profiles in India using the word cuckolding in their texts. 😳
The Reality Behind the Numbers
In 2019, we conducted a survey among our Indian ROMEOs about the impact of decriminalization and Section 377’s removal. A total of 3,400 participated—small compared to India’s population, but still a rare insight into a hidden world. One of our key questions was:
Are you married?
The results were to be expected and heartbreaking. 50% of respondents admitted: “I am married, and my wife doesn’t know.” Behind these numbers are deeply personal human tragedies.💔
But there was also hope. As gay men age, more of them find the courage to be honest with their wives. And interestingly, those men seem to be the prime targets for straight cuckolders.
We even tried to speak to some of them—but for privacy reasons, no one was comfortable being interviewed or quoted, which we totally understand.
Sexual Pressure Always Finds a Way
We have to admit—it feels a bit like we’re being used. ROMEO is meant to be a safe space for our rainbow family. But if we can help out in a compensation deal like this, well… It does give us a little smile. 😊
Our only concern? What if this goes viral in public and straight men in India find out that ROMEO is the place to find wives with apartments for free? 😱
