ROMEO’s Eurovision 2022 Results!

What a whirlwind!

The Eurovision Song Contest for 2022 has officially come to a close, and we could not have wished for a more iconic week!

Last week, we launched our ROMEO Voting App and asked you to tell us who your favourite act in the 2022 lineup is. Now that we have the actual results, it’s time to compare!

ROMEOs’ pick: Italy (Mahmood and BLANCO)

The Rest of the World: Ukraine (Kalush Orchestra), the official Eurovision Winner for 2022!

Our users’ pick to win was the Italian act, Mahmood and BLANCO. The two delivered a highly emotional performance of their beautiful song “Brividi” which sent shivers down our spines. This was a fan favourite from the very beginning, so no wonder why our ROMEOs wanted them to win. This being Mahmood’s second time on the Eurovision stage, he really gave it his all and turned this performance into something magical next to BLANCO.

The world’s pick to win was Ukraine’s amazing Kalush Ochestra for their song “Stefania”. We also had the great opportunity to interview frontman Oleh Psiuk recently, who had told us all about what the song was about and how the band came into existence.

This has been an incredibly difficult year for Ukraine, and Kalush Orchestra took the task of representing their country on this huge stage. Their ability to deliver the strength and hope of the Ukrainian people through their song is incredible!

Coming in at a close second was the U.K.’s Sam Ryder. The star put on a powerful show with his anthem, “Space Man” which was really out of this world!

And now for some honourable mentions!

Malik Harris delivered a beautiful, vulnerable performance! We interviewed the young singer/songwriter ahead of the Eurovision contest, you can watch our interview to learn more about his process and the backstory behind “Rockstars.”

We love a hot number here at ROMEO and Spain’s Chanel did not hold back. This performance went down as a fan favourite, she served straight up SEX while performing her single “SloMo”!

What a trip this has been! We’re already dreaming of next year’s song contest, but till then, we will be watching these performances on repeat.
