Dream Boat
Dream Boat is a documentary about a gay cruise and it’s the must-see film of the summer. We’ve got some tickets to giveaway for the Berlin and Paris premieres, and a bunch of other cities. Competition details are at the end of this blog. But first, let’s learn a little more about this queer movie.
Floating Gay Village
Once a year the Dream Boat sets sail on Europe’s only gay cruise. 3,000 men board this floating gay village and expectations are high. Far from, political restrictions, family or ‘regular’ life, many of these sea faring homosexuals can finally be themselves. Directed by Tristan Ferland Milewski, the film focuses on the journeys of five men and their quest to find love or a real connection.
Drugs vs Love
The cruise promises seven days of sunshine, love, and freedom – but the passengers on board also bring their own personal stories, doubts and uncertainties. Will you stay lonely on a seven-day rave on a boat, or will you live the full gay dream? How many hopes will the Dream Boat finally fulfill?
Temptation
“Well, temptation is everywhere, but love is everywhere too. Everything has to happen in these seven days and that can be high pressure. Time melts away on the ship and it’s hard to distinguish between night and day. The intensity of events confronts us with ourselves and forces us to answer some of our own questions about existence too.” – Tristan Ferland Milewski
“Dream Boat has many layers. It’s the boat of dreams and it’s the boat of disillusions” -Tristan Ferland Milewski
Authenticity
The documentary film gives a remarkable insight into a universe that usually remains a mystery to the outside world. Most Dream Boat passengers are united by one theme: the wish to live as their authentic self in a protected place.
