AI seems to be everywhere, and online dating platforms are jumping on the trend. Everyone’s talking about what’s possible, but no one seems to be asking what’s right. Please take part in our survey and tell us what you think!
What We Use AI for (Right Now)
We use AI tools to support our teams in their daily work. They help us catch scammers more effectively, communicate more efficiently, and speed up software development (we’ll share more about our roadmap in a later article).
It also lets us do completely new things—like finally telling the true story of Romeo & Julio. 🙂
The idea and script came from us humans. (AI is very PC—and not funny.). The video and music were generated using Google’s Veo3 and Suno. In total, it took around 30 hours and cost about $500 in AI credits. The process is still clunky, 8-second clips, text-to-video, and faces are often strange.
Just to be clear: we do not use AI-generated videos or images to fake reality.
But imagination seems to be the new limit. 😐
AI Enters Online Dating
This is the elephant in the room. When we read announcements from big players like Tinder, Bumble, or our direct competition, we start to wonder.
“A wingman could have a conversation with another wingman after their humans have matched, so that by the time the humans actually go on a date, they have a “robust view” of each other. Bot-to-bot conversation not only saves the humans time, it might also spot dating deal-breakers early on.”

We understand. Efficiency and technology are tempting. But we believe the impact on our Rainbow Family could be huge. This feels like new territory, and we could use some moral orientation.
We have questions about three main topics:
1. AI Assistant
That finds the right matches for you.
Filters users you’re not interested in.
Chats on your behalf. Organize the date for you.
It also means your AI assistant may know everything about you, your chats, who you slept with, what you’re into, and what you’d prefer to keep private.
Would you use it?
2. Sexual Freedom
Even with specially trained models, early tests show that AI still behaves in a very prudish way. That’s no surprise—these services are backed by huge companies. Why would they act any differently than the app stores?
This time, it’s not about how naked we can get in profile photos. It’s about how we chat with each other. Will our horny sex chats become polite and family-friendly?
3. AI Boyfriend
There’s the idea of emotional assistants to help tackle loneliness in our community.
That might be a personal choice and doesn’t directly affect others. But what will AI boyfriends mean for our community in the long run?
When AI imagines an AI boyfriend…
What Do You Think?
To be clear, we are not planning anything like this!
You may think an optional feature is a good compromise. But dating always involves at least two people. Imagine you see a hot guy—and before you can even say hello, you have to pass his AI gatekeeper.
We want to take a moment, step back, and ask you!
Maybe we’re just European and overthinking it
Thanks for taking part—we’ll share the results soon.
